(Love) From Kindergarten to Pension

Coy lips meeting in a school playground.
Hands held under desks, as if no one's around.

Kissing. Denial, to his friends, from the boy.
The girl tells her stories of love and joy.

Across coffee bar tables, gazing into each others eyes,
pecks on the lips, deep and meaningful sighs.

Passion deepens, words of love,
talk of children, blessings from above.

Broken crockery, shouting voices,
"I WOULDN'T BE HERE IF I HAD OTHER CHOICES".

Fifty years gone, slow calm paces,
linked arms, tired, wrinkled faces.
